@kreatus77 If Biedermann gets anywhere close to Thorpe’s best 400m free time in an oficial FINA meet again I’ll fly to Germany and be your personal slave for the rest of my life. Basically what I’m trying to say is that Biedermann has no fucking chance in hell now that the quasi-wetsuits are banned from swimming.

you cant say hes the best freestyler…..
hes maybe best 400+200 long course, but hackett is better 800+400 short course.
and popov is a VERY good 100+40 meter swimmer since he never used a cap or suit and still able to win the olympics

Why is everybody talking from the good old days back then? The new 200 m world-record is 1,42.00 Min. Hail to the new king – Paul Biedermann
Besides this: When Biedermann swam the new 400 m world-record he swam the last 100 meters more than 1,5 sec. faster than Thorpe, when he swam his record!

Thorpe was the best middle distance pool swimmer, then he got ill and had to quit commonwealth games 2 weeks prior to starting. Could he have challenged phelps, absolutely, him and phelps are reason i started swimming, ive only been swimming a year and im already training for the 200 fly in July, (Masters swimmer), i swim medleys as well as free and back (MY MISSION 2012 gold medal in London)

Hoogie had been 200m freestyle world record holder at 1.45.35, until Fukuoka World Championships in 2001, when Thorpe got it back.
