Now that he just finished the 150m, he has 6 gold medals from the 2008 Olympics. With his 6 from the 2004 Games in Athens, that’s 12.

He has 13 Olympic Gold Medals and 2 Bronze that he got in the 2004 Olympics. If he wins the 4 X 100 m medley relay he will have 14 olympic gold medals and an 8 total olympic gold medals at the 2008 Olympic Games..

However he has 26 Gold medals won at the world championships and pan pacific championships and 6 silver won at those championships as well.

Therefore in his career including his olympic wins he has a total of :
    39 Gold Medals Possibly 40
    6 Silver Medals
    2 Bronze Medals

for a total of 47 medals including his olympic wins bronze and silver medals in his whole career

    Hello,

As you may already know Michael Phelps leaves Beijing with a grand total of 14 gold medals. Eight of which were won over an 8 day period at the same Olympics.

That gives him 5 more than any previous Olympian including the likes of Carl Lewis, Mark Spitzs, Larissa Latynina and Paavo Nunni.

Michael Phelps who became a millionaire by the time he was 18 years old from his Olympic swimming career also set 4 new world records at the Games.

Hope this helps. There is a great free online Michael Phelps resource at: http://www.squidoo.com/michael-phelps-2008-olympics

I got most of my information from there and the resources listed below.
