The game of swimming is a kind of sport that heavily requires both endurance and muscular strength and that’s why you ought to focus or pay attention to swimming exercises good for building strong muscles which are able to high endurance.

Swimming Exercises for Powerful Swimming

Swimming exercises are crucial in developing your muscles. To build up muscles for endurance, go for high repetitions about 15 and above using low or medium size weights for 1 to 2 sets. Afterwards, do another set with a much heavier weight for lesser repetitions for about 6 to 10 times to build not big but good strong muscles.

Regular weight training for a minimum of 2 to 3 times a week can lead to improved muscle strength and endurance. You just need to focus on your chest muscles ideally for two sessions and your lower extremities for just one session. However, always keep in mind to have a minimum of 1 day of rest in between sessions of weight training exercise.

A few of Swimming Exercises for Building Strong Muscles

Check out the notes below regarding strength training and developing good swimming technique. The swimming exercises underneath are just a couple examples, and you’re simply sure to find a lot more with a little research but you do not need to execute all of them. However, try to do as much swimming exercises as you can every week.

Bench Press

You can perform this exercise using three different bench positions. It can be inclined, declined or a flat bench. Using either dumbbells or a barbell, you should slowly lower the weight down to your chest. You can do this in either a standard close arm stance or a wide stance. Don’t lift weights that are too heavy to avoid injuries or accidents.

Wide Arm Press-up

Put your hands out at two shoulders length apart, palms facing outward front. Based on your level of fitness, that you can do ¾-body position for starters and intermediates while for experts or those in advance level, you’re able to do a full body position.

Breast Stroke

While you do this exercise, make sure you control your body movements. Stand with your feet shoulder width apart. Tilt your head up. Keep this position with elbows at shoulder level. Perform smooth breaststroke swimming motions making sure your elbows are still at shoulder level.

The swimming exercises above usually are meant to developing muscles, whether it be muscles for strength or for endurance. You might integrate weight training exercise and circuit training into your exercise routine to keep up your strength and fitness. Don’t forget to do proper warm-up and stretching exercises before working out to keep the body flexible. Swimming uses majority of the body’s muscle groups so swimming exercises are vital to make sure that your muscles are strong enough and that they stay strong to achieve optimum performance.

He’s made Baltimore, Maryland his home base, and will keep travel to various meets and appearances but never stay long from home. His is really an incredible life.

As the greatest swimmer and Olympic athlete of all time, Michael Phelps, this 26 year old has just started to reap the awards of fame. With 16 Olympic medals, 14 of them Gold, and a probable appearance at the Olympic London in 2012, there’s no telling where his career numbers will end up. We know about his very humble public personal, but what’s the power that has let him rise to the top of his sport? Read on and learn what Michael Phelps’ Astrology Numerology combination tells us about this unbelievable athlete.

Michael Phelps ‘ Astronumerology; Numerology and Astrology Combined

If I wish to know exactly what a person is like before I meet them, I search for their Astronumerology combination. Through the use of their Horoscope sun sign, and their Life Path number, I can work out which of the (108) different personality types they have. Everyone should know how to find out someone’s Astrology sign once their date of birth is knows. And the Life Path calculation is simply as simple. We only sum up all of the digits of their Gregorian birth date, reducing the sum with fadic addition. Regarding Michael Phelps, since he was born on June 30th, 1985, Michael Phelps Astrology combination calculates to be Cancer with a Michael Phelps Numerology Life Path value of 5.

Astrological Chart of Michael Phelps

Planetary Synchronization is the condition that happens when at least 3 planets have been in the same degree of any of the 12 signs. In Phelps’ geocentric chart, Mercury, Juno, Pluto and Neptune are all “synchronized” and for that reason they form a Planetary Synchronization.

From the same chart, Michael Phelps’ Mars, Jupiter and Uranus are also “synchronized” and form another Planetary Synchronization.

In Phelps’ Heliocentric natal chart, he has a Planetary Synchronization of Jupiter, Chiron, Earth and Ceres.

Every Planetary Synchronization is really a sign of a great gift from God of a set of special skills and talents given at birth to everyone born during the synchronization. The more Planetary Synchronizations a birth chart has, the more gifted the person born with them.

Cancer (5) – The Hopping Homebody

People born with this combination have an odd combination of restless and reliability which is predictable as clockwork. These souls refuse to be tied down by the needs of others, requiring both freedom to go forth and express themselves, and a solid home base to return to over and over. They’re cyclic as the tides, heading out on their extensive travels, and then returning to recharge themselves and regain their focus. With Cancer Fives, even their moods are predictable, cycling from restless adventurer to stay at home nester as their plans take them.

These souls are collectors of souvenirs of every kind, the more eclectic the better. Their homes are literally a showplace for the items they’ve gather in the past, both of things, and of books and ideas. They never stop learning, absorbing trivia, book knowledge, and life experience with equal measure. And, they will use this knowledge as a competitive edge, belying the good natured genial persona which they give to the world. They smile and grin, and then go out and beat the pants off you. Their competitive streak is there, however it rarely shows once the game has finished.

Swimming became one of the most popular sports, hobbies, and leisure activities that men and women have enjoyed for the past hundreds of years. Many people of all ages and across countries have discovered to appreciate and love this activity — because it’s not just fun, but also a healthy activity.

In the past hundred years and until now, a lot of things have contributed to the popularity of this sport, but this time, let’s take a trip down trivia corner to learn stuff and tips about swimming. It could be fun to get to know swimming, so prepare your thinking caps and let’s see if you’d be able to guess and answer some of these basic tips about swimming.

Interesting tips about swimming to keep you afloat!

Well, swimming has started way back in the 1st century, although it was only in 1896 that it has become a sport in the Olympics. When you think about it, how did man ever learn how to swim, what triggered human’s instinct to swim? It’s believed that it’s through man’s basic survival instinct – a person fell into the water and panicked, thinking only to survive and live, he used his hands and legs to stay afloat and “dog paddled” his way to land. But even in the ancient times, thousands of centuries ago, there were already traces found that Egyptians were familiar with swimming through hieroglyphics – pictures and symbols for swimming were discovered.

One of the interesting tips about swimming is its strokes;

Did you know which swimming stroke could be the oldest type?

Freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, or butterfly? If you said “breaststroke”, then you’re right, this really is considered to be the oldest type of swimming stroke. Also, whenever you really observe swimming competitions, you’d have noticed the swimmers attire, there’s one intriguing fact about swimming that most people wouldn’t really bother thinking -

The swimming caps and swimming suits.

Why do they have to wear skin tight suits, and is there a need to cover the hair or head?

Actually, with a shorter hair, there’s a more chance for you to swim faster because it will simply trigger less friction, so with the swimming cap (because of its material, and no hair friction), it’s likely that it will add more speed to your swim than without wearing one. The same thing with the skin-tight swimsuits, it has to hug the body to make it a “part” of your body, so it won’t drag and slow you down. And a minor trivia yet important one is — peanuts, because of its composition, is a great source of energy to provide more stamina and strength in swimming.

It’s fantastic knowing simple swimming tips, it doesn’t only add information to your head, but it’s fun understading about these things. So, next time you’re going swimming – whether it’s for competition, pleasure, or survival, remember those swimming basics, perhaps it will just help you win the race or keep you alive.

Michael Phelps improved on his poor performance in January at the Austin Grand Prix, where he was relegated to the consolation final in the 200 freestyle. Ryan Lochte, who won the 200 free in Austin, finished fourth in Indianapolis in 1:49.41. Lochte and Phelps didn’t go head-to-head in the 100 butterfly because Lochte didn’t reach the final and finished fourth in the consolation final.

Michael Phelps continues to be more focused as he prepares for the world championships in Shanghai, China in July.

“This year is a big year for me,” Phelps said. “Coming out of the world championships, we’ll be one year away from the Olympic games. I really want to be able to have a program set by the end of this summer that I’m confident with going into the [Olympic] trials.”

When a person speaks about Olympic Swimming, it brings back the thrill of such a competitive sport. Not only will the swimmer like Michael Phelps be putting his name on the line, he also keeps on his back the nation he is representing. His win will be a win for his country. And coming home victorious, would be worthy of an honor for making a name for his country.

Olympic Swimming has many events – both for men and women. There are freestyle, butterfly, backstroke and breaststroke races that cover different distances. There can also be medley relays which are thrilling to watch. Even in the preliminary heats in Olympic Swimming, the competition is very stiff - with participating swimmers giving it their best. Those with the best times will proceed to the semi-finals and finals competition.

In Olympic Swimming, Michael Phelps will also feel the stress in the air. The swimmers are very competitive and are committed to a win. And the audiences are correspondingly cheering hard for their representatives. One can expect thrilling Olympic Swimming events that can take your breath away. It is simply too exciting to watch, and having so many people around having their own swimmers, will a lot more than quadruple the enjoyment.

What is more interesting now with Olympic Swimming is the addition of the Open Water Races. There would be the 10K open water races for both men and women divisions. These are very interesting additions as considered by many – but a welcomed one at that.

The addition of the Open Water Races in Olympic Swimming would add a variety to the swimming competition. Many think that Europeans are very well to dominate this category, but others will not come in without a good fight. Definitely, Olympic Swimming is able to put more excitement with their array of competitions in the field.

Come Olympic Games this 2012 in England, one can only expect great things. In Olympic Swimming, one needs to hold on to their seats for thrilling events which are worthy to witness – with the Open Water Races giving fans something more to look forward to.

Olympic Swimming is indeed very fun to watch. The excitement and thrill that each swimming race provides, shouldn’t be missed. As Olympic swimmers set their sights on gold medals to bring home, one is assured of nothing more than a great show.

So cheer on to your country’s swimming heroes, and inspire them to grab hold of the gold medal as they swim on to victory.

There are many sports played all over the world. Some sports can be extremely popular worldwide like football, tennis…etc, while others tend to stay in the country they originated from such as cricket, soft ball… Some sports require skill and technique while others require speed and endurance. Various sports include skill, technique, speed and endurance. Swimming is one of those sports that require all the necessary skills to be a highly skilled swimmer. Michael Phelps has all those traits and this is the reason why I’d personally consider him one of the best in the world.

Is Michael Phelps one of the top Olympic Athlete in the World?

Plenty of good reasons why I particularly feel that Michael Phelps is the best in the world. Firstly, if you every try swimming not just for fun but on a team or anything you realize that swimming is extremely hard. Personally , i swim and have swam for several years and even coach it and I know that it really is a lot harder then people give you credit for. Swimming may perhaps be one of the hardest sports that you can do. Swimmers usually get less credit then they deserve for there swimming skills and abilities. I feel Michael Phelps has enormously improved the sport as a tougher sport the both men and woman can participate in. He trains harder then anyone I have ever heard of and Michael Phelps workouts are insane and are incapable of being completed by most. He’s got won the most gold Olympic metals in a single Olympics. He also will be trying to earn to most Olympic gold medals ever upon completion of the next Olympics.

Even though you might have learned about Michael Phelps with controlled substances this still doesn’t neglect the truth that he is still the best athlete. Although yes he did do an illegal action that might have hurt swimming name there is no lying that he has proof he’s the best. He might not personally be the best at life but in athletics he tops the charts. He’s known all around the world for his achievements and that beats many American football players. Whenever you think of Football you would imagine tough, well swimming is just as tough, only in a different sense. No matter what sport Michael Phelps is compared to he is still the best in the world and even though he has made multiple mistakes he will bounce bake while he has the capability to continue being the best athlete in the world. Everyone makes mistakes and we should give Michael Phelps a 2nd chance at continuing to try and do what he does best: swimming.

Does Michael Phelps diet?

What does Michael Phelps eat to make him such an incredible Olympic swimmer?

The big secret to the Michael Phelps diet: When ESPN interviewer asked Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps what he ate, the record-breaking athlete described the Michael Phelps diet as “a lot of pasta and pizza…a lot of carbs”

“I’m eating a lot of pasta and pizza. I’m eating a lot of carbs. And sleeping as much as I can. I think just about every morning I’ve woken up at 4:30 or 5. It takes me a while to fall back asleep, but I do for about an extra half hour. It takes me a while to get up, but it’s the Olympics, it’s what you have to do.”

Find out how simple it is? All we have to do is order the left side of the food list at Olive Garden, curl up in bed and hit the snooze button when we get up, and we, too, can challenge Spitz’s record. But there needs to be more to it than that. Or else, how should I explain why my body looks more like the Michelin Man’s than like Phelps’ wiry form even though I’ve been following his Gold Medal Diet most of my life?

Sure, Michael Phelps only tied the Olympic record in the semifinal. However that he had just one hour to rest between races. That’s barely enough time for him to have pizza and pasta delivered from Domino’s, let alone eat it.

“I tried not to go all-out and conserved as much as I could, but I felt fine,” Michael Phelps said after the 200 fly. “I barely had enough time to relax between races. Now I just have to go back and get some food in my system. I’ve been able to recover as much as I can. Tonight will be some extra recovery time, which will be crucial for the next races.”

The big secret Michael Phelps pizza diet is not something that you expect you’ll hear from an Olympic swimmer, the lean, muscular man who shatters world swimming records by just a hundred of a second, and who won a jaw-dropping record of gold medals at the last Olympics in Athens. In the present Summer Olympics 2012 in London, it’s expected that Michael Phelps will win even more gold medals for his record-breaking swimming. And all while eating pasta and pizza! It is a shame the rest of us can’t follow the Michael Phelps diet! Although many Americans eat just like Michael Phelps, the ‘Michael Phelps diet‘, with its high carbs and fat, is hardly helping America’s waistlines.

It would appear that Michael Phelps has been following this diet for years. 6 years ago, in 2005, IGN Sports asked Michael Phelps what he ate. The Michael Phelps diet back then? Pretty much the same. “I eat pretty much whatever I want,” Michael Phelps told IGN, describing his diet as non-existent and “all about cramming in as many calories into my system as I possibly can. To be honest with you, I have a tough time keeping weight on.” (source). If only the rest of us had Michael Phelps’ weight problem! When IGN asked Michael Phelps about fast food, all he said was, “Bring it on!”

Undoubtedly, following the Michael Phelps diet without Michael Phelps’ tough, strenuous workout will only get you fat. Obviously, the Michael Phelps diet is only successful if you train along the caliber of an Olympic athlete. If you are just a typical person, eating the Michael Phelps diet of pizza and pasta will do you more harm than good.

Lest you think that you could imitate this Michael Phelps diet and sleeping regimen and come out appearing like a Greek god, you are going to do well to understand that Michael Phelps most likely expends more energy during one of his swimming practice sessions and races than most of us living a normal lifestyle will do during a week.

Unless you’re training for the next Olympics in London 2012, don’t stick to the Michael Phelps diet!
